Wizzardoz

Planning to build on:

Dark base pro 900 Rev. 2 Case

ASUS Crosshair VII Hero X470 Motherboard

Rysen 2700x CPU

The system will be for Home video editing, browsing and general use.

What will be a good air cooled non-stock CPU fan?

Just get the much cheaper R7 1700 which is $150 right now

and Gigabyte Auros B450 board, VRM is still good at $90

grab a Scythe Fuma Rev B if you can find one, or a Neptwin dual tower cooler

also maybe a case that has airflow like the coolermaster H500

I edit my posts a lot, Twitter is @LordStreetguru just don't ask PC questions there mostly...

Spoiler

What is your budget/country for your new PC?

what monitor resolution/refresh rate?

What games or other software do you need to run?

Mostly Amazon in UK. Budget is around £1,500ish ($1,900). Not decided on memory but need 2 x 8Gb @ 32Mhz. Video card - considering

Sapphire - Radeon RX 590 8 GB NITRO+.

Macho Rev. B is good: https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/product/4TCrxr/thermalright-cpu-cooler-machorevb

Thanks but not sure if it is AM4 compatible? Just asking as Amazon uk does not mention AM4.

It seems like it's old stock since they should've been updated with AM4 kits by now.

For a bit more, I'd suggest going with the similar Mugen 5 Rev. B instead: https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/product/8GBrxr/scythe-mugen-5-rev-b-512-cfm-cpu-cooler-scmg-5100

If you want a longer warranty or slimmer cooler to make working around the motherboard a bit easier, the NH-U12S is a great alternative that performs just slightly worse: https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/product/7dTrxr/noctua-nh-u12s-se-am4-cpu-cooler-nh-u12s-se-am4
