Recommended Posts

Posted · Original PosterOP

Yoh guys... Can anyone suggest best HDD for gaming. I already have 1tb SSD but it filled so fast as games size these days are so huge. So I figure it out that I only use my SSD for MP games and HDD for single player games. I have WD blue but I am not happy with the performance cause it loads so long...

TIA,

If you'll compare any HDD to a SSD of course it will load long, even at 7200rpm 3,5 inch you won't see miracles, just use the WD Blue you have already.

TIA,

WD Black. The newer ones with 256 mb cache(4 and 6 TB versions). Period.

It's useless as a storage method but the best HDDS comes with it so yah.

If you want the best HDD money can buy for your needs grab a Seagate FireCuda 2TB

What does it have to offer over the regular WD blue?

I had a dream where Linus picked me up. It was wonderful.

In simple words, better speed, better endurance and more noise but black's noise is a pro for me.

Gotcha. I personally won't spare the extra buck for something that's essentially for gaming storage. It's not as if the WD blue is in anyway unreliable. But they don't come in massive sizes.

Blue is pretty much ok for everyday stuff. If you want the best mainstream HDD my recommendations go like this:
1.WD Black or Red
2. Seagate Ironwolf
3. Toshiba X300

Any HDD, even crappy 5400 RPM one of desired capacity, cheap SSD as cache using PrimoCache = win.
