Worth it to upgrade to 1050 TI, or wait for 1080?

Sir_Spams_Alot

So in short, i just put together a new "Rig". basically its got just enough to run, so i could play stuff while i saved up for a graphics card. I'm also going to be buying it on Ebay. ive got a ryzen 3, 8 gigs of ram, and a 600 w power supply.

Thanks.

How much longer is it going to take you to save up for the 1080?

Obviously the 1050Ti is a shit card compared to the 1080, and frankly isn't a good buy in general, with the RX570 being a much more solid choice in that price bracket.

The 1050ti isn't worth upgrading to. The rx 570 8gb is way (Like 30-40-%) better for a very similar price. And I'm not sure why you'd wait for the 1080. It was released a few years ago and it's very hard to find one new now, if not impossible.

Ryzen 3 really only allows for up to a 1070 level of performance anyways, after that you only get gains in maximum fps in a few games. As the person above says, depends on what gpu you currently have before we can really recommend anything.

a) there are non nVidia/Geforce Graphics cards worth considering

b) what 600W PSU?
c) Why eBay??

I assume 2200G without Graphics card, right?
In those case, 50€ or so for fast Memory might make sense anyway and give you better performance.

The 2200G should be in the region of the 1030, IF you use decent frequency Dual Channel Memory...

Well never go 1050ti it's a dumb card that's slower and more expensive than RX 570. Okay now that we have that out of the way, should you go RX 570 or wait for a 1080? Well given you're running a Ryzen 3, I wouldn't pair it with a 1080. You have 8 gigs of ram on a Ryzen 3. If I were you I would get something like an RX 580, and ASAP go up to 16gb of RAM and maybe look at upgrading to a better Zen 3 CPU like a Zen 5 3600 come summer. 1080 is great and all, but you'd be hard bottlenecking it on a Ryzen 3 with 8gb of VRAM. I know. I ran mine on a 4.4ghz 3570k (roughly equal to a slightly overclocked 2200g) and it was a really bad experience.
