Service providers and routers

Nubsical

I have recently received an RT-AC3200 router.

I have started to think, why get a gaming router when your service provider is slow? (ex. fios 500 mps)

Even if your ISP is slow there are some reasons (to an extent), it if you have a large amount of wireless devices, or need to transfer large files quickly inside your network.

But to be honest an AC1800 or w/e the numbering is WiFi router is more than enough most consumers for quite awhile.
