GTX 1080 Low Fps

Hello guys,

My system is:

i7 6700k 4.0 Ghz

16GB DDR4 3200Mz Ram

SLI GPU:

Gainward GTX 1080

Msi Armor 1080

Gigabyte z170 gaming 3

When i try to lay games my average is 60-40 fps. I searched for solutions and i found that i have to upgrade my CPU, but i don't want to spend 600-700$ for a CPU and a motherboard. Another solution was to buy a 4k monitor. I don't know what to do, if anyones knows please help me.

What makes you think so?

Well, you could upgrade for a lot less than that but still, you may not have to. The 6700k is good.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 10 and Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

How many watts do I needATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

what games are you playing and at what resolution? wht settings in the game?

try using only 1gpu. does that fix the issue? (some games have negative scaling in SLI)

i found out at http://thebottlenecker.com that my cpu bottlenecks my 2gpu at 34% and it recommend it me to upgrarde to a i9-9900k or i7-8700k or othes CPU like that.

Yeah definitely don't trust the bottleneck calculator, it's far too general to the point of being inaccurate.

AC Odyssey is notorious for being very graphically demanding even an RTX 2080 Ti looks weak when running that game. My 6700k and GTX 1080 have been great for 1080p 144Hz gaming, but some titles like AC Odyssey, BF2, and Whitcher fall below 100FPS consistently. Unless you go 1440p a CPU upgrade will not yield the performance increase you would think, the exact reason why not to upgrade.

Some physical limitation. Need to actually see the info of the system running the game. Usage of everything. Preferably the graphs in the task manager and show each core of the cpu too. Don't see that cpu handling two 1080s at that res.

A i7-6700K might/will hold the GPU back a little bit, compared to the newer, higher core count CPUs  -- but that can be fixed with a little CPU overclocking.

Assassin's Creed Odyssey is KNOWN to be a poorly optimized game; even higher-end system will struggle.

Yes but other games like for honor and far cry 5 have poor performance. I don't even have steady 60 fps. I don't mind to have 144hz gaming i just want to have steady 60 fps and i'm asking if there is a software option that i can try and maybe solve my problem.

Did you try to run the games on single card?

Are you sure you didn't insert second card into PCIEX4 slot?

SLI is restricted, at a software level, to PCI-E X8 or above.

Anything below (e.g. PCI-E X4), and SLI won't be available.

Have you tried turned SLI on/off manually?

If the game does not scale well with SLI / multi-GPUs, you could see a performance HIT instead of a performance gain.

Well that’s quite vague. Need to use the exact same settings if that’s the case.

But i mean, what is the system actually doing during a benchmark? Usage and temps of every part.

The CPU works at 95% 80C and the GPU 70-85% 60C
