How do I add a new disk drive on an Xpenology Disk Station?

I have the new drive connected physically to my server but I'm not sure how to format it so I can put files on it.

Since it is a clone of a Synology you can check guides online for that.

I have checked guides online, that was the first thing I did. It says I should be able to just go to Storage Manager > Volume > Select the volume > Manage > Expand

But that is not an option. Synology recognizes that I have a disk connected but will not format the disk. I feel like there's something I'm missing, but there's no documentation I can find that tells me how. There is a mountain of documentation that comes with a Synology but I was hoping to fast track this as I'm running out of storage.

How is your existing array configured? How many disks? What RAID level? Are you using Synology Hybrid RAID? (SHR)
