Lg 34uc99-w still relevant in 2019?

Hey.

Im a student, currently studying to become a programmer. Around 90% of my work is done on my 13 inch 2016 MacBook Pro and the rest on my desktop.

 

I have grown tired of working on a small screen and is therefore looking for a bigger monitor. I stumbled upon an ultrawide monitor by LG, the 34uc99-w. It has a great resolution of 3440x1440p, thunderbolt 3, 2 USB ports, display port and a HDMI port. And it's about half the price of the newer model, the 34WK95C. 
Since the 34uc99-w is close to 2 years old by now, is it still a relevant thunderbolt 3 monitor for 2019 or should I be looking for something els?

 

I will be doing some gaming on this monitor as well, but no competitive.

If you have any suggestions for an alternative monitor, I would happy :)

even if it is 2 years old, it should be awesome. lg makes amazing monitors.
