Windows not loading

When I boot up my laptop, it brings up the password  part, once signed in, the screen goes black and the tray starts to flash on and off. Then I get that pop up saying "Extraction Failed" can not find archive file.

Is this a fail windows update or something more.

Do you happen to have a USB recovery drive? If so, you could maybe go back to a previous restore point. Sometimes restore points are made when you install a new program or hardware as a fail safe.

  • What OS are you running?
  • When did this issue occur?
  • Do you know if an update was pushed out before it occurred?
  • Have you tried to boot into safe mode?

Okay, Not sure if this will work in your situation.
Once you have started to log in. Press Ctrl + Alt + Del and select task manager > File > Run New Task > type msconfig > Select Boot tab > in boot options select Safe boot > apply > okay > restart. This should boot you into safe mode. Let me know how you go.
