Color Accurate 2k 144hz

Hello, this question is probably getting old by now but im looking for a color accurate 27" 2560x1440 144hz

id like the display accuracy to be close to the https://pcpartpicker.com/product/LVV48d/asus-monitor-pb278q 

 

so far i have found these

wondering which one may have the best color accuracy

I have the MG279Q, a little pricey but no regrets. Amazing monitor.

Thanks for the suggestion, I had an eye on that one,  is 60hz to 144hz in your opinion worth an extra $146 ? I've only ever had 60hz and don't know if it's a drastic difference in the way games feel.

FYI, 2K does not mean 1440p - yes I know, occasionally a smartphone manufacturer will refer to it as such. It's not. 2K means 2000 (or approximately close to) horizontal pixels. The primary 2K spec is the 2K DCI cinema specification, which is 2048 x 1080. 1920 x 1080 is also considered 2K, but generally doesn't use the 2K designation. 1440p would be "2.5K", if we're going to use that naming convention.

 

Now, back on topic: I agree with @Wingfan - I'd recommend the MG279Q. Though honestly, they're probably all within spitting distance of each other.

I personally think it is, it was a a huge difference coming from a 1080p 120Hz TN panel. What GPU do you have?

Was just about to look up if my 1070ti can push enough frames. I have a 1440p 60hz right now so I could see what's the max frames I could push and if I can't get frames higher than 120 at 1440p and if not I might wait and get a new 1440p 60hz now and a 1080p 144hz later.

I have a 1070, so you will be just fine. Its more than Hz, the picture is amazing. A quality monitor is a good investment, will last you longer than your GPU/CPU upgrades.

Ended up getting the mg279q but unfortunately im going to have to send it back. the screen just doesn't look bright or vivid enough especially sitting next to my acer which is half the price. The 144hz is amazing but i cant stand the inaccurate colors and lack of brightness

Have you actually calibrated the monitor?

 

Most monitors that have vivid colours are actually very inaccurate, and tend to have overblown colours because that's what people "like".

 

I'd calibrate it first to make sure it's actually bad before you return it. Brightness could certainly be an issue worth returning over though.

i haven't used a color calibrating tool like a spyder on it but iv'e tried many configurations suggested by sites that have used a color calibrator. the weird thing is they suggest putting the monitor at %30 brightness but even at 100% brightness it isn't bright enough but it should match my acer at 350 cd/m² max brightness.

I would contact support then, or do a straight swap exchange for the same model. Sounds like maybe your backlight is defective.

 

Reviews show that it should actually exceed the 350 cd/m2 spec.

okay thank you for the help! Just had a chat with amazon and im getting a refund. would you recomend a replacement or should i spend a little more for the ASUS ROG Swift PG279QZ

I would personally just try another of the exact same model before paying additional money for an upgrade.
