What should I upgrade to?

Nstud

I currently have a rx570, ryzen 5 1600x, and 450 watt psu. My grandmother feels obligated to get me a birthday gift and I want to run 1080p 144 hz low settings in games like fortnight and apex. What graphics card should I ask for? She has not given me a price range so I want to keep it relatively cheap.

You should be getting pretty decent frames with your current setup have you overclocked your 1600x & rx 570?

I have the RX 580 8GB and see over 100fps with med settings with the same cpu.

For 1080p low/med 144hz I would go up to a gtx 1070/1070ti/vega 56.   You have a 144hz monitor correct?

Edit: Do you have dual channel memory running at the rated speeds? and is your mobo bios, chipset and drivers all up to date?

@Tz000 I do have a 144hz monitor and I get really inconsistent frames from 60-144 usually closer to 60. I want to upgrade because any time I get in a fight when you would want more frames my frames drop down to 60. should I just get a better chair or something like that? Im thinking about getting a rx 580 or 590 and then reselling my 570

why would you want to run 1080 144hz LOW SETTINGS? you should be able to play high with apex and fortnight. my sister has an RX 550 and those games run smooth at medium/high

Lol I have a RX580 and can only hit 144HZ if I'm on 1080p low and still can't keep 144HZ. Mind you I do have single channel memory on a 2200G.

Current Desktop Build | 2200G | RX 580 4GB | 8GB RAM | CTRL | Logitech G Pro Wireless

Laptop | 2018 MBA 256/16GB | MX Master

you know, running any FPS between 60 and 144 is fine. it still should run smooth

never mind I just overclocked my gpu for the first time and increased my core clock 990 mhz! Am I doing something wrong, how is this possible?

from a 570?, i'd go for a 2060, or v56 if you have a freesync monitor.

Well thats what overclocking is, it unlocks your cards base clocks beyond the standard.

For example my GTX1070TI, i got it overclocked to a GTX 1080 level GPU via overclocking.

And provided your GPU has good cooling this will not harm your card at all

In any case the RX 570 should be more than good here, you may just want to play with overclocking and or game settings

is your monitor freesync?  You will notice the upgrade to the 580/590 and if you can get a little bit back out of your 570 its a viable upgrade but you might as well go a little beyond that to a vega 56 or 1070/ti
