When you select game capture, you have options to select any full screen application or a specific window.

Select specific window option and select the game which to capture.

Also, if you have more active sources in one scene, the order of the sources matter.

Make sure the game source is at the very top in the list.

Also, if you still got only black window and you also have NVIDIA graphics card and iGPU...

Turn off OBS.

Go to NVIDIA Control Panel.

3D settings.

On top, switch the tab from Global settings to Program settings.

Find OBS application and go to CUDA setting, change it from Automatic to your specific graphics card.

Apply.

Should work just fine now.

If not, you're using NVENC on a very demanding game. Change the preset from High Quality just to Quality.
