Shotcut help

I need help with shotcut. I am able to insert a mic audio file and a video file. When I try to download music online and use it doesn't let me. Hitfilm express lets me but it has a watermark and a piano noise. (I had hitfilm express before and it was fine then I updated) How can I add music? The music is from youtube and I am downloading it off of y2mate.

what error do you get? What codec is the music? Have you tried converting the music to a different codec?
