Hello community,

 

I don't know if I'm posting on the right thread/forum but I apologize for the hardcore vets that I may annoy :( this will be my first post on here and I'm really glad I have somewhere to ask for the information I seek. For the community out there reading this, I am in the need of some advice and/or suggestions. I am a college student who wants to find the perfect workstation for my needs at this given point of time. I appreciate any suggestions and advice! Heres what I am looking for: 

  • Spending limit: 2000$ 
  • I want this to be a long term workstation pc that I can just buy the latest processor and "update" in a sense
  • Need something really powerful that can handle music, video, photo/editing on a daily basis
  • It'd be cool to have it VR ready since I plan on saving for one in the future but that's the least of my problems 
  • I usually play League of Legends but would like to run Steam for FPS games like R6 Siege or any game really 
  • I would spend extra money on cooling systems and anything that can keep my workstation fairly quiet--open to suggestions
  • I have a BenQ XL2430T monitor if that information helps 
  • Lastly, it has to look like a chick magnet! (Subjective but open to all interpretation lol) 
  • Oh one more thing! I know you get parts from different store/sites but I am getting financial help with this build/buy, so either something thats consumer ready or a build that I can print out and order just from one site 

So probably the only downside to all of this is that, is there really a workstation of my dreams right now out there? And if she is, where might she be?

i mean, if the guy wants the be sure he can always get support? bestbuy has the stupidest warranty in history. you can legit destroy the pc and they will fix it for nothing under warranty. or give you a new one.

you have a 1080p monitor so there is no need to go overkill with a 2080ti or anything an 1660ti will be more than sufficient

choose the r7 2700 as the cpu because it is an amazing workstation chip at this price

if you need more power you can get a threadripper

32gs of ram cause since your using a workstation it might be helpful you can always not get it if you dont need it

not sure what chick magnet means but at least the theme is relatively consistent

and also. The majority of girls dont even know about the PCMR

And the ones that do will just get into a dick measuring contest over your gpu with you

Well, it's Adobe, so get Intel. Do you need the GPU for much? If not, I'd get a 2060 and overdose on the CPU a LOT:

The only reason why I put the criteria for prebuilt machines is the people helping might prefer something thats prebuilt that I can just choose options to put in but I already knew it wasn't practical to have all the things I want in a prebuilt machine

this is what i would do. you can make one really nice build with this. it would be a very crisp build, and it will be one of the faster things you can create. its all from newegg so its easy to order, and for 50 more you can get a slightly faster CPU.

this is what i would do. you can make one really nice build with this. it would be a very crisp build, and it will be one of the faster things you can create. its all from newegg so its easy to order, and for 50 more you can get a slightly faster CPU.

This build sounds like a beast. I was actually looking at the i9 specifically when I was looking for a workstation but I heard I might need that much cores and it might just be a waste having that much core when the programs I'm running is like only 8 cores? At least I think thats what I understood from a YT video lol, please correct me if I'm wrong

that build with the i9 is WAY unbalanced, 300 over budget, and not even a logial build. there is no hard drive, its a bad motherboard, and the ram is not even 3000mhz.

This is the X299 (the enthusiast/workstation platform) i9, not the 9900k. Would be weird if it was limited to 8 cores.

I'm only going for Intel because you have Adobe though, otherwise I would totally go with AMD TR
