That’s funny, coulda swore I heard of aorus having the worst thermals x470 board as well as knowing 2 people within the past 6months to have their aorus board crap out within a month

i mean, the gaming 7 is an alternative, but nothing worth more or less than a taichi

btw, how much price difference between the x370 and x470?

unless you prefer not having wifi and best RGB then of course why get the incredible x470 gaming 7 with basically the same performance as well when you can get a mobo with a non transferable 1 year warranty ASROCK product instead of the transferable 3 year warranty AORUS product and be married to the damn thing forever since it's resale value with no warranty is right in the trashcan where asrock products belong.

Hy all!

I'm thinking about a new desktop PC rig. All I have is my MSI GTX 1660 Gaming X 6Gb video card, a Cooler Master B500 v2 500W PSU and my Cooler Master Mastercase Pro 3 midtower (supports micro ATX and mini ITX).

My first idea was an intel config, but it was far too expensive for me, so I've decided to AMD. But what next? :)

I've choosen a setup and then though....

My choice is (for gaming):

AMD Ryzen 7 2700X

Asus TUF B450M Plus Gaming

Cryorig R1 Universal CPU cooler (250W+ heat sinking)

G.Skill 32 Gb RAM

I can't decide in RAM manufacturer, RAM speed and dual channel or quad channel.

The ASUS TUF B450M plus gaming motherborad supports 3200Mhz RAM speed for single channel and for Dual channel but 2800-2400-2166Mhz for quad channel.

Could you please help me if 3200Mhz Dual channel or 2800Mhz quad channel is the better choice?

And if you know a better  AM4 microATX motherbord idea, please let me know!

Thank you!

that's a no from me, even a pro4 is better (which is the best value board imo)

I'd take a b450 mortar, b450 bazooka plus, steel legend or ab350/b450/x370 pro4 over it

quad channel gives no benefit on ryzen, just get 2 sticks, 3000+ mhz

PSU: https://eu.coolermaster.com/uk/powersupply/office-home/b500ver2/ This is my old friend :) It could be about 10 years old and working fine :)

Memory: 32GB 3200MHz DDR4 RAM G.Skill Flare X for AMD XMP (2X16GB) (F4-2400C15D-32GFX) (CL15) OR 16GB 3200MHz DDR4 RAM G.Skill Flare X for AMD XMP (2X8GB) (F4-3200C14D-16GFX) (CL14) :S (my vote is on 2x16Gb it's cheaper too in my country :P)

Motherboard: msi B450M mortar (made my choice thanks to you :) )

CPU: not a cheap one (about 314 USA dollars, 281 Euros), but I don't want to upgrade it for about 5 years :)

Thank you very much for your kind help! :)

the only difference between the x and non x 2700 is a pre-overclock and maybe some binning, just so you know

I'me several PSU counts and the upshot was about 385-390W. What is your opinion about a Cooler Master V550 80+ Gold modular PSU?

I don't think the performance or the quality of the board would have changed.

I think the only noticeable difference between the Pro4 and Pro4-F is that the Pro4-F has a few aesthetic changes such as white VRM heatsinks and different port layout.
