You can add $14 and go for an Aorus X570 Elite or the TUF X570, but I'm guessing these 2 would not have your liking since they're more on the low-end lines of boards.

I'm still a newbie when it comes to motherboards, so I can't really give you solid suggestions or useful insight, but no matter what motherboard you ultimately decide to buy, make sure to read detailed reviews of it and watch enough YouTube reviews about it as well. If I had done so before hastily picking my board, I would've probably made a better choice. Best of luck!

The thing is I will return them after flash the BIOS for Ryzen 3000 compatibility and test the system if it works.

I heard some Gigabyte X470 boards are no good for overclocking. The TUF X570 SATA ports pointing out position is killing me like why?

Why even use a cardboard? PC containers in general are a bad idea, Just put the entire build with all of its components and wires on the side of the desk and let it breathe in that fresh air without having to add any fans at all.

Ikr I told him so as well, he can very easily get a decent X570 board that wouldn't require BIOS flashing if he adds that money to his motherboard budget

Ohhhh, well then that makes it a different situation and that's definitely a better choice than putting it on the shelf (duh.) Even though, the bootkit is still a good idea instead of having to do all of that, so look into that a bit or at least ask the store if they can do it for you before going for a 1st-2nd gen Ryen processor.

Is there any point getting a >$200 motherboard if one uses a 3600 and doesn’t overclock? would a b450 steel legend do just fine?

the 3600 pulls almost nothing, vrm wise you're fine with even a 70 dollar motherboard like the pro4 for it

I see. Thank you. However I suppose these cheaper B450 are worse overall when it comes to ethernet and sound, memory compatibility, these sorts of things? These lists mostly seem to focus on performance and potential for overclock.

well, we keep power delivery here in mind and tier based off that, on the other things there are other sources that are better than us in that part

ethernet is usually the same Realtek 1gig stuff, audio can sometimes be something worse than the common Realtek S1220A, the rest are indeed worse (but not noticeable for me).

To clarify on the new layout here "Maxed Out" refers to achieving solid stats to support use at full core and boost clocks?

Or are we talking about an overclock?

Hey, ill be buying an Ryzen 7 3700X and some kind of AIO for it with plans to do a light overclock ... would this board be sufficient  ( GIGABYTE AORUS X570 ELITE )? This is for gaming only rig.

more than sufficient, even a tomahawk or pro carbon would easily do

that board should be ok with even the 16 core, you're ok.

Only you can judge the features, other things are fine. Just dont have much hope on RGB control sync.
