Tier B although it has bad VRM (only 4 phases and mediocre cooling)? Interesting. I thought that was some other ultra with better VRM.

the only thing you could really rank is the die, which is not that hard, but i think most people don't know which they have, so the tier list idea becomes useless.

I'm working on a memory guide with some others tho

it technically is okay enough for it, but i recommend against buying one, because there's much and much better on the market. so if you want the nicer overclocks on it, you'll need a better board than it

But I don’t really have any problems with my 8600k in there on stock settings besides not being able to acess bios. I was just thinking it could break but it’s been working for a few months

no access to bios? you should ask asus about that part, because that's a pretty major problem

Ill test when I get home, I wanna say prime ran stable at 5.1 or something though (Im on air)

still, i'm talking vrms here, because i wouldn't be surprised if it would do as good if not better on a better board

(All Z390) MSI MEG ACE, Aorus Ultra, Aorus Master, Maximus X Apex, XI Apex or other recommendations for me? Going to OC 9900K quite heavily, 32Gb 3600Mhz RAM, as well as 2080 Ti. Suggestions on which mobo to get? Nothing too expensive though.

Asus: Maximus XI extreme, Maximus XI Apex, Maximus X extreme, Rampage VI Apex, Rampage VI extreme (alpha)

You have this under Intel. Alpha isn't for x299, it's an AMD board.

ROG Zenith Extreme Alpha is for AMD and Rampage VI Extreme Omega is for Intel.

EDIT: ok, I see that you have the Zenith Extreme Alpha in AMD where it belongs, so just change the alpha under Intel to omega and everything is cool.

If you watch Buildzoid he reckons that the Ultra could have the better VRM because of the components used on it. If you don't need the extra features then the Ultra is more than fine.

Hello.

I want to buy a Am4 motherboard and want to get Asus x470 Prime Pro but it seems it's VRM is not good and have the same performance as Msi x470 gaming plus, but Asus one is in tier A while Msi is in tier B and as a beginner I'm very confuse which one to pick right now.

For now I plan to buy a Ryzen 5 2600x and overclock it with a Rtx 2080 then letter buy a Ryzen 9 3850x with an x570 motherboard.

Also I live in a very hot place in summer weather can easily reach 45˚c so I don't know what to pick. What is the different between tier A and B?

the difference for a 2600x is minimal, but for let's say that 3850x it would be a whole other thing. the tier b's are good for current gen, but not for next
