Power supply

KieronGamesX105

Hi everyone! I'm currently in a bit of a mess. I'm nearing the end of my build and I'm only missing the power supply and I'm looking for recommendations as I don't want anything to go wrong as this is my first build. I've heard 550w with 80+ bronze will be ok, but I'm not sure.

Specs:

Case: Corsair 275R

CPU: Ryzen 7 2700X

GPU: MSI 1080ti

Fans: 6 X 120mm

Cooler: default Ryzen one

HDD: 2TB Western Digital

SSD: 250GB western digital

Where are you buying from? A good 550W is plenty, but the 80+ rating is irrelevant.

What's your budget?

I usually recommend 80+ Gold if you can get it. 550W should be enough, but I would probably go with 650W if it were me.

Corsair has several 550W Bronze units. You also didn't answer my question?

Not through Amazon, but the Formula 550W is a good one. Quiet, multi rail, and performs well.

If you don't care about noise too much, and it has to be through Amazon, there's the TX550M on Amazon.

I know it's not either of those and I'm sorry to be a pain. But would you say this would be enough or should I just go for the TX like you recommend?

the cx550 is fine, although I would get a 80+ gold like a supernova Gx (anything after the G), or corsair RMx

Dude, you're getting a £600 GPU and a £250 CPU, yet you want to save £10 on the PSU?

The Formula is a better PSU.

It has one fewer cable, but it has 6 SATA connectors instead of 5 on the CX. It has 2 Molex connectors instead of 4 on the CX.

It's quieter at all loads than the CX.

It has a within spec hold up time of 17ms Vs 12ms on the CX. Though the CX you can buy today will probably have an even shorter hold up time.

And it has multi rail.

:)
