AC Odyssey low fps

for some reason i'm getting pretty poor performance in AC Odyssey. i pretty much run the custom preset used in this video @ 1080p ultrawide but i can't get 60fps no matter what. i looked at my gpu and cpu usages and it's pretty low, so i don't think it's a issue. other games i can run 60fps just fine, including Origins. i run 1070 and ryzen 1600

he's testing with a core i7-8700K test system overclocked to 4.9ghz...that's why

makes sense. for me it drops as low as 25fps, my usages drop at this time. guess i need intel to run this game well..

yeah...i'm using a 1080ti and before the 8700K i had a 4770K and it would drop FPS and GPU usage a fair bit when a lot of NPC and stuff...8700K solved the issue completely.

That game is poorly optimized, like all open world ubisoft games...requires fast CPU with lots of cores.

reminds me of Watch dogs 2. but strange that i don't have this issue in Origins, including the cities

I know I’m really late to this post but I just found it while Googling because I am having an issue with low FPS too.

 

& I’m running an overclocked i7 8700K & 2080 Ti @ 1440p and still only getting like 75-80 FPS on ultra settings when a 2080 Ti and OC’d 8700K should be able to get at least 100 FPS in any game regardless of graphics settings.

 

The game is just VERY demanding and even the most powerful hardware out there has trouble running it at high FPS.
