Best gpu for the i7-2600k

Hello, Ive been looking to get a new gpu for my rig, I have an i7-2600k overclocked to 4.43ghz, 32gb of ddr3 ram. My current gpu is a gt 1030 gddr5 by gigabyte. Im looking to get a new gpu around the $100 range for costant 60fps in games like Apex and Overwatch. Im open to suggestions but im leaning towards a gtx 970/rx570 or a gtx 960/rx560. I dont have a preferences (amd/nvidia) as all the gpu's (from what I understand) have decent driver support and relative clock speed.

You can get a used rx 580 4gb for 100. I would do that over a 970.

So, your saying that taking the clock on my i7 down to 3.8ghz would be better for an rx 570?

Update:

Looks like the rx 580 wwuld be good for my cpu's current clock. I dont care about turning down the clock, it could probably benefit from going down heat wise.

The rx 570 will require me to turn down the clock speed. (Probably the same for the gtx 970). Will also be cheaper.

 

 

So what about the gtx 960 and rx 560?

wait why lower CPU clock when you use weaker GPU?

 

NAh, 960 and 560 are really weak. They are alright today, but I'm not optimistic on their future next year.

Had me scratching my head as well, my philosophy is, the faster (and stable) clockspeed for either or/both CPU and GPU, the better! @xg32, care to explain what you'd based your suggestion on?

He meant turn the graphic settings on the game down a bit. Like going from "ultra" to  high or turning off v-sync. You do not need to lower your clock speeds on your CPU

i mean don't expect to completely max out apex with a 570, i wouldn't even bother with a 970 tho, unless you get it really cheap, 570 comes with 2 free games atm.

ya, i don't know where you are getting the 970 from if new, if used, then you are better off getting a 570 since it's so cheap with 2 free games anyway.

970 is faster than the 570 AFAIK tho, but either is fine for 1080p. I had an RX570 4GB for a bit, thing is a beast for the price, handles 1080p high/ultra easily in most games, I ran Destiny 2 at medium with ultra textures and pushed a consistent 120+ fps with a 5Ghz 8600K.

Is there any other GPU that y'all would suggest for the i7-2600k? This is ignoring costs entirely.
