1920 -1080 = 840

Like, yeah? 1080x1080 isnt 16:9

So it's not possible ? What's the lowest I can have with 16:9 then ?

 What do you mean?

Why do you need to use a square aspect ratio in the first place?

you could use 1600x900 or 1280x720p if you just want a lower resolution, but do you have a specific use case where you need to use 1080x1080 resolution? In that case you could stretch the image, but it ain't gonna look pretty...

I only see your reply if you @ me.

Fortnite? Why do you need 1080x1080 on fortnite? Doesn't fortnight support all the resolution scalings?

In which case you could just use a different 16/9 resolution?

Or why exactly do you need square image on fortnine?

It wouldn't shock me.

People play stretched resolutions all the time in CS:GO and Fortnite. Not sure why 1080x1080 became popular in particular but stretched has always been big in eSports games that aren't Overwatch.

Why "should" everyone use 1920x1080 ? You seem like a sceptical person who is afraid of trying new stuff. Try new stuff and stop hiding in your comfort zone, your life will be a lot better. ( Now this comment will either get no replies/laughter/rejection without valid arguments. Just save yourself some trouble and apply what I said to your life. )
This is one of the best fortnite players in the world, he uses 1080x1080. Watch his gameplay, judge for yourself.

It's because you edit a lot easier with stretched mode. The way you move the bouse whilst editing walls and stairs. Stretched helps a lot!
