This list is still filled with flaws.

Which makes me believe this list isn't based on fact, just assumptions and subjectivity.

I'm still waiting on the required criteria for each tier.

What factors you take into account, what you don't.

That still doesn't tell us what factors are examined before tiering.

Noise? Primary topology? Efficiency? Cabling?

Not only is this necessary for validity, it also lets people know what further research they should take before buying.

Imo G3 should be bumped up a tier because its protections being set too high *likely* won't matter under the average load.

Does the A ranking for the Corsair units:  "TXM 2017" include the prior to 2017 "Enthusiast TX750 v2" model (from around 2011-2012)?.

As seen here:  https://www.corsair.com/us/en/Categories/Products/Power-Supply-Units/Enthusiast-Series™-TX750-V2-—-80-PLUS®-Bronze-Certified-750-Watt-High-Performance-Power-Supply/p/CMPSU-750TXV2

No - those are TXs, not TXMs, too.

The TX750 2011 would be listed under the legacy list, most likely.

They are not listed under the old tier list either, I'm curious if they would be recognized as the same quality.

From what I can find, the TXv2 looks like a SeaSonic AT based unit, the same as the higher wattage M12II.

@jonnyGURU would be able to confirm this for you.

No. You won't find it on the Tier List as it doesn't consider discontinued units, especially not units from 8 years ago. It's mainly just for comparing units that are currently available on the market.

It is. Seasonic AT platform. DC-DC, Double Forward Topology. DBB fan, 50C temp rating. It would have been a pretty good unit for its time. If it were being ranked, not that I know what the criteria for ranking is, I would probably put it in the Tier B category alongside the modern CX/CXm units.

It's also listed in JGs PSU list: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1qaSSCWjC11ArO8WyBb_wTvFU_Ez9488F6ARkbag1e14/edit#gid=0

No, that's bullshit.

You want a quiet solution, the Semi Fanless thing is overhyped Marketing Nonsense that can reduce the lifetime of the PSU because of the heat generated.

If you have a really bad Semi Fanless solution - like the Enermax Revolution SFX or my Chieftec SFX, what's the benefit?

In the end its only a thing big companies like Corsair can realls stem - or smaller ones with the help of big companies.

Modular makes sense, but then again, its Standard in higher end, not so much at the lower end and its pretty obvious.

Closest think to a review I could find is for the KCAS 700W in Russian (use google translate) http://article.techlabs.by/36_35024.html Even then it doesn't really tell you much. Though if someone recognises which Andyson platform it is they might be able to identify it and know a bit more about it.

I would say Tier C at the highest though, considering group regulated units are Tier C and lower.

Hopefuly it's better than lower wattage versions, which are somewhat known as prone to blowing up

Group Regulation with shitty Protection, so worse than that...

Its similar to Xilence Performance C and the likes (Seasonic S12II ;))

0db fan is a marketing scheme, SFX is very obvious, but I'll make it more obvious. Modular is ubquitous at the high end and not at the low end.... not really a point. RGB is on like what? Three PSUs, all with RGB in the name?
