Wondering if a 1660 ti will work with my i7 3770.

Beam3k

Upgrading my gpu from a 1050ti to a 1660ti and was wondering if a i7 3770 will work fine with the 1660ti i ordered. Would also like to know if someone can tell me a good affordable upgrade for my processor.

Just wondering if there will be any bottlenecking issues by the way.

It'll work, but it'll be holding you back in the long run. Just how much depends on what resolution you're planning on pushing.

As far as upgrades to the processor goes - depends on your definition of affordable, really. You're looking at a platform swap regardless, as the 3770(k) is about as good as it gets for the 1155 socket.

Right around a good combo. Pretty much the strongest GPU an i7 3770 would run mostly fine at 1080p high details.

Im looking to upgrade everything in my pc eventually but slowly one part at a time. I would love to get a new motherboard and cpu and ram right away but its not in my budget at this moment.

There's no good/affordable upgrade for your processor since it would take you a new motherboard, CPU, and RAM just to get some kind of a performance bump.

Let's say 400-500$ for a Ryzen 5 6-core, a decent board, and 16GB fast ddr4 - you're looking at a slight boost but having upgradability, modern hardware with new features and a new warranty. For a really noticeable boost, you'd need to spend noticeably more.

What would you suggest for new motherboard ram and cpu ? Im planning on getting that next just wanted to get the more expensive parts out of the way first for upgrading.

Would a i5 9600k be a good upgrade ?

That processor is too weak for 1660ti, it's a bottleneck even if u have a SSD and 8gigs.

It will be fine unless you're playing on high refresh rate. 144hz++

3770K is the only upgrade available for you but if your current mobo is not Z series then it's pretty pointless.

Yeah, it will work better than a 1050ti but you won't get the full potential of the 1660ti.

That's almost the perfect choice for a 1660ti and has almost 0% bottlenecks with 8 gig ddr4 and a SSD. Can't call it an equal of a i7-8700k but with more than half the price and almost just 25% less performance....the Ryzen 5 2600 is the best choice.

3570k with a 1070 here.

You will experience bottlenecks. But a little overclock solves it in most cases.

You'll be fine.
