GTX 1070 Flood

Kissker

So many of you might have noticed the shear volume of 1070's on Ebay... but does anyone know a source that isn't likely to be dead cards from crypto mining?   Tons of them just list as "used' or "lightly used over a year" but this is really misleading when you see they have 20+ for sale.  "Lightly used" I would consider as "gamed once and a while, general PC use otherwise"  not "mined for a few months last year before the collapse"  thermals tend to be a nightmare on casual miner rigs..... so I am way too weary for chancing anything - especially sellers with low sales, or no stars, etc.

So.. anyone know a 1070 for roughly $250 (inc' shipping, US, the rough range of these used cards on ebay) that wasn't used to mine?   Trying to upgrade from a Gtx 760.....

The RTX 2060 is a compeling purchase if you can get at least 250ish back on a 1070, topping 100 for a card that's faster, more efficient and cooler makes sense.

If the ad seems legit it's probably legit, we have had GTX 980 Ti going for as long haven't we?

the 2060s, I doubt anyone would let one go for $250.    Ebay looks 300-350 range, and that is just completely out of budget.  Newegg $390.  While the "performance" might be there, the value for dollar spent isn't - at least not to me.  (I haven't even gotten 1080p going smooth/ultra/60fps so raytracing and more is just... fancy extra I won't care about for a long while)

He's saying the reason there's a flood of 1070's is because everyone is selling them for $250 to use towards their 2060 purchase.
