I have AMD FX 8320 1050ti, question about upgrading GPU

I have 1050ti with FX 8320 8core and I want to upgrade to 1060 or 1660 graphics card. I am just worried if they will bottleneck or limit my performance. Thanks

i think in this case it's your cpu being the bottleneck

I don't think you'll see high enough performance gains even if you had a better cpu to justify the price

FX8 When you use more than 4cores you lose too much frequency (Turbo backs off greatly) so I'd suggest a manual overclock Surpassing the baseclock to drive up the minimum FPS values.

 

Guides exist & don't ignore Northbridge Boosts.

I Paired an FX8 3.8Ghz (AllCores all day) with a GTX970 and was playing many titles between 55-90fps but also had occasional dips too for very short incremental periods,.. Even when playable its not exactly the smoothest experience frame time wise.

 

 

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz
