GTAV 16-27FPS Lock Please help

Recommended Posts

Posted · Original PosterOP

Hi guys,

I used to play gta all the time but I had woken up one day to find that my game was playing at 16 to 27 FPS, when honestly i know my pc can do some much better (see specs below)

CPU: Ryzen 7 1700

MB: MSI x370 gaming pro carbon

GPU: Gigabyte 1070 ti 8GB

RAM: Corsair vengeance pro 16GB 3000Mhz

PSU: Silverstone E-T650B 650W

Storage: SSHD 2TB

Overheating has never been a problem and isn't so either right now, I've tried reinstalling drivers & reinstalling the game itself. and it comes to no avail even changing the graphic settings do absolutely nothing. The only thing that changes it is the resolution which i can only get 60FPS when playing in 800x600... Gta is only using 40-45% of ram, usually 11% of my cpu & 10-40% of my gpu. As im still fairly new to computes this is very annoying for me as im still trying to learn...i've tried looking on youtube and other places for an answer but and can honestly find solution. forgot to mention that this is the only game it happens to,

- Thank you

1 Check in CPU-z to see if your conponents isn't weak ones with label of more porefull ones

2 try removing the overclock of the ram, AMD is a pain when it comes to RAM, also turn OFF the XMP it doesn't work properly if it even works

RAM: Corsair vengeance pro 16GB 3000Mhz ( OC to 3600 I believe )

Try dropping it to 3000Mhz, and make sure the DRAM voltage is set to 1.35v. This may solve your problem.

I had a ton of issues with OCing my Corsair Vengeance LPX, even going so far as them causing me to be unable to boot or unable to run beyond 2133Mhz.

They Weren't even oc'ed my bad... and XMP Isnt on either. Bursthearts is that the name of the program? 'CPU-z'. They problem however occurs on gta only. All my other games run perfectly. And Gta used to run perfectly so i'd assume that they are actual parts.

So you've been running at 2133Mhz the whole time, rip.

idk exactly why he wanted you to get it.

Supposedly he thinks you have a "fake" part. idk

You could try updating and/or reinstalling Windows. And when you reinstalled drivers, did you use DDU?

"Display Driver Uninstaller"

you run it in Windows safe mode, it nukes every remnant of the driver. Then you boot into normal Windows and clean install the driver.

Make sure you disable the Windows automatic driver updates btw.

You may as well try, it shouldn't hurt anything. If this doesn't help, there's not much you can do short of trying to reinstall Windows

Give you a clean slate with no conflicting drivers or software to potentially cause issues.
