Good headphones for gaming mostly

Wintersun

I'm currently using the HD 650 for like 5-6 years and they are amazing, but i want to try something new,my DAC is the OBJ2.

Mainly use for gaming(R6 Siege,PUBG) so i need good soundstage/open-back cans.

Any suggestions ? Thanks

ATH M50X

They sound clean, and have lots of variants (50,50x,50x Bluetooth)

They are closed back, which is bad to some people, but you look like less of a nerd in public

i7 6700k, GTX 1080, Crucial MX 300, Maximus VII Hero, WD Blue, 16 GB RAM

Just to say NEVER EVER get surround sound headphones because they actually suck I used to own a50 and used surround and they sound horrible compared to my DT 990 Pro

Yeah i knew that.

How do you feel about the DT 990 Pro for gaming? they have good soundstage ?

i'm seeing lot of good reviews about the ATH-AD700x for competitive fps.

i'd try new dac first with 650s but if mainly gaming you are pretty much at the plateau

maybe try tube amp to see if you like the coloration

or you could look at some planar headphones

I dont know what to tell you though if you are just gaming

you pretty much at the endgame spot on gaming besides looking into vss

Buying new headphones would probably not make a large difference.

Max_Settings mentions the T50

Crimson Panda

AKG K712 PRO

OL DAC
Magni 3

try a pair of DT 880 or 990. the dt 880 are semi opens but to be honest it sound completely open. the 990 are sharp excelent for footsteps music can kill you though. but both cans should have a wider soundstage and better imaging than the 650. they both have attached wires but are more comfortable than any senns Ive tried aside from the hd 800. in terms of detail and sound quality they should be similar to 650 if not maybe a little less detail but these cans are mid fi like the hd 650. but I think these are great options fi you want something different, other cans that I find liking too the fostex t60rp which are semi open and he 4xx, also monoprice monolith m560 anbd m1060. ive been looking into planars a lot but if ou want something really different I also recommmend getting planars.
