1440p Monitor Detected as 1080p Monitor

DashKat

I'm having an issue where my new LG monitor (32" 1440p) is not being detected by my PC as 1440p. It is showing up as 1080p in AMD Catalyst Control Center, and Windows Settings (btw my GPU is an AMD Radeon HD 5800 Series. Yes I know that it's slow, I'm not planning to game on it). I have installed the latest drivers, the drivers from the CD that I got in the box, and I am using the HDMI Cable included in the box. My mac detects it as a 1440p monitor with the same cable. Does anyone know how to fix this? The link to the monitor: https://www.lg.com/us/business/commercial-display/products/desktop-monitors/lg-32BK50Q-W

That may be my last resort, but for now is there anything else I can do? I really don't want to do that and then have it not work

You have to run in safe mode than run DDU then reboot in normal mode, install drivers from the radeon official amd website

If you do it well it will erase all trace of drivers and registry keys etc.etc. and then you should have a clean install and it should work

Because your GPU can't display 1080p via HDMI. Does it have a DVI port?
