I dont have to know the exact details. First 64gb cant be cheaper than 32gb in any case. anything unused is a waste / overpriced.

just like "hey I got a deal on 1500w psu " etc

I mean anything is possible dude, you can't just assume that the the deal was bad solely because it's 64gb of RAM. OP may consider a good deal something different from what you and I do.

It probably wasn't a crazy deal but we can't be sure, that's all im tryna say

You don’t need to nock down OPs thought of a good deal and maby he has a good deal and is just looking for reasons he might spend a more instead of buying the worse unit price of 32gb and a good deal only means a Good UNIT price not necessarily a “cheap” overall price

Hyper-V is available in windows 10 Pro so you dont even really need to go all out on a Server OS for Virtualization if you want to run some VM's. You can have your main desktop running and keep maybe a Linux or another windows machine running in a virtual environment. Lots of possibilities! Thats what Im currently using 32GB for but 64 sounds even better

That reminds me when I had 16GB before that became common for desktop.  RAM Disk so I could host a Minecraft and Terraria server on it.  xD

OP could also run LHC@Home ATLAS WUs, those love RAM.

I'm actually toying with going up to 64GB as just running two of those WUs eat over 60% of my current 32GB RAM.  Then having WCG WUs and a few videos pushes it over 70% sometimes near 80% usage.
