SSD disapeared from BIOS...

So I build my first PC(cheers) and had my first bug (maybe there are other once too). Got a M2 corsair MP300 120GB for windows 10 boot, and on the 3rd day morning (today) PC failed to boot and it disappeared from BIOS when I looked it up. Read online to shut off, turn OFF/On power supply and PC did booth up again with BIOS finding my SSD M2. However, read that this may be a recurring problem. I have a asus x470-Pro, Ryzen 2600x, 32GB ( 4 x 8GB sticks corsair vengeance).

 3 things that I suspect that may cause this:

1. The SSD is rated PCIe Gen 3.0 x2 but I have connected in to PCIe Gen 3.0 x4 (M2_1) on the motherboard (since it is the faster one).
2. I just did a BIOS update late last night.
3. I didn't turn of the power supply before unplugging the power cord last night (The PC was shut down properly before hand).

Any help to preventing this from happening again?

NO biggie that happens to my old man.  All you need to do is connect it to another SATA port and possibly change cable and it will find it again.

There is no SATA connection, cause the M2 plugs in directly to the moba. But I suppose I can try switching it to the second slot, cause there are 2 M2 connectors.

Oh my bad for a second I thought it was SSD.  Try a difference slot and let us know.

Couple of months late, but I had pluged the SSD in the wrong M2 port. There is a x4 and x2 porth, had to plug it back in the x2 port.
