Upgrading my iRacing Gaming PC, have I chosen wisely??

Waacy

Hello Everybody,

I'm at the point of wanting to update my gaming PC from 2012, things have come a long way since I built it. I want to confirm with the community that my new build isn't going to leave me disappointed.

My current build                                                           New Build

CPU: i5-4590 3.30 Ghz                                               Ryzen 5 2600 3.4 GHz

GPU: GTX 960 2GB                                                    GTX 1660 Ti Asus Phoenix

MB: MSI S1150 H97 Gaming 3                                   MSI B450 Tomahawk

RAM: 8GB G.skill DDR3-1600                                    8GB G.Skill DDR4-2400

For the new build I'm aiming to have something I can play Racing/Sim games on High-Ultra settings at 1080, and spend around $1250 Australian Dollory-doos

So is there an area I'm spending too much money for what I want to do??

Or is there anything other option I'm missing??

You should go for 3000MHz memory and a 1070Ti instead

ASUS X470-PRO • R7 1700 4GHz • Corsair H110i GT P/P • 2x MSI RX 480 8G • Corsair DP 2x8 @3466 • EVGA 750 G2 • Corsair 730T • Crucial MX500 250GB • WD 4TB

For 1080p I believe this would do, need a 2nd opinion though.

Basically what I did was ditch nvidia, add dual channel faster memory, a larger SSD and a case with actual airflow.

ASUS X470-PRO • R7 1700 4GHz • Corsair H110i GT P/P • 2x MSI RX 480 8G • Corsair DP 2x8 @3466 • EVGA 750 G2 • Corsair 730T • Crucial MX500 250GB • WD 4TB
