How do I fix an IPhone 5s with a black screen?

Reem1kTechTips

It worked very well, but I have not used it for 5 months and I just found it again.

It does not respond to holding the power button, trying to enter recovery mode and such.

I bought another charging cable because the last one was a bit broken and only worked on one side.

I already cleaned the charging port with compressed air.

At first I thought that it may be an issue with charging since the phone was in a pencil case and Graphite is conductive, but after thorought cleaning the port, I am not sure.

It could be a variety of things, unfortunately diagnosing it just from the fact that it doesn't turn on is very hard. You could try bringing it to a local repair shop and see if they can do anything.

Don't ask to ask, just ask... please 🤨

Smash it with a hamemr and dont buy an Apple product again as they activly stop you from repairing and charge obscene amounts to 'fix' it themselves.

The thing is that they ask like 49€ just for diagnostics and thats quite bad. I just opened up the phone and Im going to assume that it might be in the battery because its from 2013 and it seems to be a common issue.

It could be the battery for sure, it's just that without diagnostic tools you'll have to trust that nothing else was damaged.
