V moda M-100 with absolutely NO BASS?!

Hi, I own M-100 Headphones and they have no bass, like at all. Why is this the case? This is occurring both using my smartphone and PC+DAC (FiiO K1).

 

Can you help me solve this issue?

Dang they go down to 5hz, holy balls but you say there is no bass WTF??

It's pretty embarrassing, but I have had them bought new *1 year ago* and they were always like this, I just never knew what bass really meant until I tried my friend's $40 headphones and was completely fucking shocked today,

I had the M100 a couple of years back, it was my bassiest pair of cans.....and I have quite a few cans. Where didcha get it from? I'm concerned that it could possibly be a fake because no way in hell is it lacking in bass in any way, shape or form. My friend's a basshead gave mine a listen and fell in love with the sound, bought it off me after just one listen. I didn't mind selling it to him as, while I like bass, the M100 was just too bass heavy for my liking.

5hz is meaty bass, I have some ear buds that go down to 10hz and that makes a boom 5hz should be even more insane, differently must be a fake copy. Espically since he said he had a dac as well and he says there is no bass. I would personally buy some new headphones from audio techinca cus the bass kicks ass.

I have the M100's as well and they have plenty of bass, they're terrific headphones all around.

 

I'd call V-Moda and RMA them, to be honest.

I would check your windows audio settings.. i had an issue with bass after the most recent update. check all sound ehancements are off, and the listing on amazon looks perfectly legit with lots of reviews and by V-MODA

LTT's Resident Porsche fanboy and nutjob Audiophile.

 

Main speaker setup is now;

 

Mini DSP SHD Studio -> 2x Mola Mola Tambaqui DAC's (fed by AES/EBU, one feeds the left sub and main, the other feeds the right side) -> 2x Neumann KH420 + 2x Neumann KH870

 

(Having a totally seperate DAC for each channel is game changing for sound quality)

these numbers don't tell anything

 

Otherwise: The no bass thing could be a amplifier problem.
