Using a Wii console as a server machine

foofy

Hey, so I know this is a stupid idea, but I kinda wanna do it just for shits 'n giggles.

I was wondering if it would be possible to use two Wii consoles as server machines for basic tasks such as hosting a Discord music bot, a game server, a simple webserver, etc.

I know how to do all this within Ubuntu but from what I can tell, there's not really a way to install Ubuntu on a Wii.

Any help is appreciated!

considering it only has 64mb (i think) of what i think is ddr3 memory, that won’t be a really fast server

I know you can run DOS on the Wii, I doubt you can run any type of useful server though. You can buy a single board computer for like, $20 that will do the job fine. I have a nano Pi Neo sitting under my desk right now acting as an OpenVPN server.

Desktop: i9 11900k, 32GB DDR4, 4060 Ti 8GB 🙂

I have no idea but people like bitwit installed windows on a switch. Edit: maybe you can create an internet app for the internet channel?
