P106 (GTX1060) Microsoft basic render driver issue

Hello,

 

A few days ago I got my P106, as I was setting it up and got to the final stage, which was adding a game and changing from the iGPU to use the P106, it only showed two options both being Microsoft basic render driver.

Before installing the Nvidia driver which I modified, it showed my iGPU but after the installation, the only option I could see is Microsoft basic render driver for both normal and high performance.

Does anyone know of a solution or got any ideas?

try it again in case you may have overlooked something?

 

there's a reason why linus mentions in both his videos that this really isnt something he recommends, because it is dodgy as all hell to get to work, and may spontaniously stop doing so.

 

it's kind of like the extreme version of running beta drivers to use VLANs on windows 10 and normal desktop network interfaces. it'll most likely work, it may just not.

Tell us what processor you're using and what version of Windows you're running.
