Installed new 8gb ram and fortnite runs at 50 fps max

I don't have v-sync on and when i look at the bios the ram is "Undefined" but it still reads the 8gb of ram the mother board is H81M-C.

so, is this worse performance than you got before? and what happens when you remove it and go back to what you had before?

I haven't done that yet.But on minecraft i saw the fps drop to low 80 and sometimes goes to the high 200

@fasauceome Thanks what do you think is causing my fps problem specifically in fortnite when i had 4gb of ram it was running fine above 100 fps sometimes dips down to 50 but mostly smooth gaming.

The clock speed of your ram matters. Is it any slower than the other kit?

@fasauceome its at 1600mhz just like my old 4gb kit and its only 1 8gb stick

Ah. You are running in single channel, which is always a performance issue.

 

But yes, go into your BIOS and make sure your RAM is really at the speed printed on the label.
