RX 590 or 1660ti for r5 2600 and freesync monitor?

Woofboy13

Planning on getting a new gaming pc. For 1080p max settings gameplay. I plan on playing games like Forza Horizon 4, Dirt Rally 2.0, CSGO, LoL and such.

Got a r5 2600 cpu in mind with an a320 mobo.

Heres the deal, i can either get an RX 590 or the new 1660ti. Obviously the gtx is better but i will buy a 75hz freesync monitor.

My question is will a gtx card affect the display and will it all run properly?

GTX 10 series cards and later now support freesync, other than that, I have no clue as it varies by monitor, otherwise I totally recommend the 1660ti

sort of by monitor and by the driver version you have, but you can alsways try to force freesync on it

Ditch the A320 Motherboard, go for a B450. And get the GTX 1660 Ti, it performs better than the RX 590, it is like a 1070 with respects to gaming.

Well, i dont plan on overclocking, i want my rig to last as long as possible. But what are vrms and will the build quality cost my rigs lifetime?

yep, with the new drivers you can do freesync on nvidia gpu's

vrms is the power delivery, you seriously comprimise on quality of the vrms with a320

I would suggest looking into the b450 pro4 (either matx or atx) for example, and see how little more it costs to have a actual good motherboard

Come on, why are you gonna blow all your budget on a GPU but not a decent motherboard? You can find the ASRock AB350M for like $50 and that's a decent enough board for your 2600.

More on-topic, just get the 1660 Ti. The 590 is basically an overclocked 580... for a decent chunk more.

Would it be okay if i just found the cheapest version of the b450 or the b350?

ab350? I do think the b450 version is a bit better with the fat 3+3

Meh, if he needs a decent motherboard on the cheap it'll do.

If he can spring for the B450 version (I think that actually might be the same price, not too sure) then go for that.

@Woofboy13 The one thing that I noticed no one mentioned is that for you to activate G-Sync on a Freesync display is that you must be using Display Port.

Sry im new to monitors. I only know gsync and freesync as types and that freesync helps you with screen tearing but is only(at least i thought it was) for amd. Are you saying that i wont be able to just plug in and play if i get the 1660ti and the freesync monitor? Whats a display port?

Display Port is type of display connection just like HDMI and it just means that if your monitor doesn't have display port you can't activate the adaptive refresh rate your monitor

supports. That does not mean though that you will be unable to use the monitor.                                                                           Display Port ->Image result for displayport connector
