Hackers show Android running on Nintendo Switch

This has been on many people's wish list since before the console released, we've known that people have been working on it for quite some time but it's been pretty hush hush, until now.

 

A very well known developer in the Android world (his name is on a few custom ROM builds already) just dropped a video of a Switch running Android as well as a link to a GitHub.

The possibility of running Android on a Nintendo Switch has always been a source of discussion in the scene since its early days. Some are favourable to the idea, pointing to the Tegra X1 SoC at the heart of the console which is already found in other Android devices (not taking into account the customizations commissioned by Nintendo) and how such a port would both expand the console's capabilities and its software library. I'm pretty happy about this, Android on Switch is something I've wanted. I just hope you can dual boot Horizon/Android.

Wonder if this will work well with Steam in home streaming ?

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

UI looks like android 4.0 despite being a "Q" build. Graphics issues potentially?

probably just used an older easier version to get running as a proof of concept I would think.

I still just want to play a bit of GZDoom and Quake on the go. Maybe a bit of emulation on the side, and just a bit of media playing for movies. 

Nvidiaaaaa why did you put your tablet line out of production (apart from not being profitable), I just wanna play some games.

Who needs fancy graphics and high resolutions when you can get a 60 FPS frame rate on iGPUs?

That already happened... Hell their last tablet release wasn't really even an update to a year old device.
