Yes you will get black bars on all 16:9 content, most movies are ~21:9.

I think Non native resolution it will stretch it out to fit typically if it is full screened, unless it is a really really really old game.  If i remember correctly.

You can test this with your current display by running a game at non native resolution

yes, those are usually 16:9. LTT uses 18:9, so still the same problem for you (and honestly, everyone watching with a desktop or laptop).

Yes. That's why you use the native resolution.

Thank you sniperGod and Jurrunio my guru master... That is what I needed to know...  I don't think 21:9 is for me, plus its not even 4k and 2560x1440 is way to big for me.  I need my 4k resolution.   Thanks for the info, I think I will have to skip the ultrawide market until content is there which it wont be anytime soon.

You will be missing out. Watching movies on a 21:9 screen is an amazing experience. Don't forget, most movies are filmed in 21:9.

Same goes for gaming, its totally difference experience playing in 21:9.

I didn't know that.  In that case Im back in the market for a ultra wide.  I just don't know if I should wait for the Samsung CRG9 or go with 21:9 right now...

More and more games these days are adapting ultrawide resolutions and it looks great but intro sequences and cutscenes will almost always be in 16:9. In Assassin's Creed Odyssey for example you can actually override the cutscenes in that game to play in 21:9 with a hex edit of the exe.

Thanks for the post Acolyte.  I wish these wide gaming monitors have a choice in the monitor setting to use 16:9 but cover the entire screen and not stretch.  sighs
