i like to think that @mr moose and @LAwLz are good friends IRL but are the opposites of the same coin on the forums. kind of like the protagonist and antagonist in the movies who go get lunch together when they aren't on camera

Maybe, my verbal and communicative IQ is quite low and I don't much appreciate conflict so it is quite likely we'd have many discussions over a drink, I imagine only a few topics would get intense.  

Grammar and spelling is not indicative of intelligence/knowledge.  Not having the same opinion does not always mean lack of understanding.

Not being exposed and experiencing an initial shock, sure.

14/hr is a huge amount for spending time on the computer. It's not exactly a skilled occupation, clearly people are willing to take that risk for that amount. They can leave any time.

The fact that it doesn't require specific skills and that it's on a computer doesn't make it a low effort job, as evidenced by this article. It is a low effort job, any job can potentially be traumatic if the wrong people apply. You'd have to be a bit mad to keep working if a job gives you PTSD, this is on a timescale for months, even if you don't have a job lined up, its not too hard.

Thats subjective. I have cleaned out a sewer for min wage and I don't mind doing it - its not really dangerous or undesirable to me (If I get paid), its just a job. Chances are there are many more people willing to do the same job for a lower price, and they are the ones that get the job. Likewise for FB moderation, I wouldn't mind doing it for 14/hr, that's a lot of money to me.

Mental illnesses especially aren't always immediately obvious to the victim, either - they could simply blame it on themselves and not see the connection with what they do at work. Blaming the victims doesn't get us anywhere.

Good for you, but not everyone feels that way and I'd be willing to bet the vast majority of people doing those jobs don't. The cost of life is probably different where you live compared to the US, too. There are probably some things you'd never do unless you were forced to, or paid way more than minimum wage for, even if they didn't require you to learn extra skills - they're just different from mine.

Don't ask to ask, just ask... please 🤨
