What monitor should I choose?

Hello Lads, i would like to ask for a favor, can you rate my setup and can you help me choose a monitor 

Setup : I9 9900k / Motherboard Aorus z390 master / Asus strix 1080 ti 11gb / 32 GB ddr4 ram / corsair H150i pro / corsair HX1000i / M.2 1to SSD / 4To HDD

agreed. I have a 4k monitor and if I could get it sold here in South Africa for a price that'll buy me a 21:9 1440p setup or even just a regular 27" 1440p monitor I'd be happy to sell or trade it. but I can't seem to get rid of it. luckily I got it for free since the power supply got fried the guy who owned it just ordered a new one and didn't bother with this one any further. gave it to me.

Yeah that is what I was thinking. Still a very good card and more than enough for 1440p 144hz gaming.

I would go with a 3440 X 1440 100hz monitor. Also a 3840 X 1600 60hz if you like more pixels.

 

For 4k the 1080 ti forces you to drop too many settings. If you upgrade to a RTX 2080 ti 4k 60hz ultra is possible on most games.

 

Even with my RTX 2080 ti, 1440p 144hz is hard.  My GTX 1080 ti SLI rig can do it on games that support SLI. 

I can only recommend a monitor that has G-Sync. I have the LG 32GK850G.

True. But if your are playing competitive and what high frame counts, getting that in 4k is much harder without dialing down the quality. And you don't need to at lower resolutions.

Solid 9 out of 10. I only think you could have cut back on the cpu and instead upgraded the gpu.
