8th gen is a good buy because it's cheaper.

Hi

Is the i3-9350KF the same CPU as the i3-8350K but with the iGPU disabled and a soldered IHS?

Not gonna buy it just asking because a client asked me if they were similar but she already ordered a build with the 8th gen because it was cheaper

9th gen has turbo. 4ghz base, 4.6ghz turbo.

8th gen has no turbo, only 4ghz base.

If you are running on a locked motherboard, and are using a dedicated gpu, the 9th gen will be better.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 10 and Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

How many watts do I needATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

Mostly. Aside from the better performance when not overclocked (from Turbo Boost), the Intel Core i3-9350KF makes zero sense unless it were to cost less. This is because, without an iGPU, you lose features like QuickSync, making it more of a downgrade.

It'll be running on an MSI 370 for modelling, photo edition and regular office stuff

8350k is better then, because you can OC them both to about the same give or take lottery and the 8350k has igpu.

i wasn't very impressed overall with the i3's overclocking, TBH. It's okay.
