1080p gaming and productivity.

OLz

Hi.
I'm planning to upgrade my pc.  Goal is to play AAA titles at 1080p and do some 3D/CAD modelling.
I'm mostly interested thoughts on cpu and motherboard(the more I/O options the better), probably i would like to upgrade gpu in future sometime.

So here is my list:

PCPartPicker part list: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/6MrZmq
Price breakdown by merchant: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/6MrZmq/by_merchant/

CPU: AMD - Ryzen 5 2600 3.4 GHz 6-Core Processor  ($164.99 @ Amazon)
Motherboard: ASRock - B450 GAMING-ITX/AC Mini ITX AM4 Motherboard  ($84.00 @ Newegg)
Memory: G.Skill - Ripjaws V Series 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3200 Memory  ($175.98 @ Newegg)
Storage: Samsung - 850 EVO-Series 250 GB 2.5" Solid State Drive  ($107.89 @ OutletPC)
Video Card: Asus - GeForce GTX 1070 8 GB Dual Series Video Card  ($439.89 @ OutletPC)
Case: Thermaltake - Core V1 Mini ITX Desktop Case  ($41.35 @ Amazon)
Power Supply: Corsair - RMx (2018) 650 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply  ($99.99 @ Amazon)
Total: $1114.09

Am i on the right track or there is room for improvement? I don't have specific budget but i'd like cheapest option that i could get away with.

seems good to me, that ITX board is the one id go for personally so i can say id recommend it. nothing seems out of place to me but you only have 250gb of storage so a storage upgrade would be the first one on my list or just getting a 500GB SSD to start with. AAA games take up 100gb because screw optimisation and all that good stuff so a 1-4 TB HDD would make a nice addition im thinking. 3D models arent tiny either afaik

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)
