8Pack Launches The ORION X2 - a Dual System for a "only" £32,999.99 ($43,015.65)

They couldn't make the second side a NAS or VM server? This is the dumbest dual-system I've seen.

What a bullshit build. Nobody should ever buy this, under any circumstances.

What if you just want to show people just how much money you have? I mean I bet this makes a great space heater as well.

I am honestly super surprised that at price point you don't get 32gb of ram and a 9900k as a default at this price point.

TTC did an overview/review of this machine:

They also touch upon the PSU concerns, claiming that when both systems are running at full tilt, at the same time, the power draw is "only" 1600w; leaving plenty of room left on the 2000w unit being used.

I just don't see the point of having two systems in one case. You can only use one computer at a time, why not just have one, powerful computer.

Only where I could see that kind of system would be needed would be something like CAD- or 3D-work and even then that is way overkill for a single system. Some niche professional usages could theoretically gain from that kind of system but then usually runing a mainframe or a farm would be wiser. You could always argue 3D rendering, but if you really do something where you need that level of performance, it's way more better to build a render farm. Also those tasks really hit any hardware hard and so that PSU is going to trip fast.

Yeah for 33 grand, I'd buy a car. For something that in 5 years is going to be a bit 'meh', and get it's arse handed to it by £2000-3000 systems, a coke habit seems less of a waste of money.
