Need opinions!! Planning on building my first pc

Squado

NEED HELP.

I'm planning on building my first pc (for gaming) by April 2019. Are the components alright or is there anything I should replace?

I went with Vega 56 because of the monitor which supports freesync instead of RTX 2060.

To me, that seems good although in the future you might want to get 2 more 8 gig ram sticks but its not necessary.

You did good picking out some good parts!

So many things you could improve over that config.

CPU, for about the same money you can get a Ryzen 7 with 8 cores.

250+$ for a motherboard using a mid range CPU? spend max 200$ and that would already give you amazing mobo, X470 Taichi is one of the best AM4 motherboards out there.

No HDD? Have one for heavier files.

Vega 56 for 450$? Get a 2070.

I cannot agree with you on all points. The 2600X is faster in games compared to first Gen 1700X. If your workload is just gaming don't get a 1700X. Also you could save some money and get the 2600 (non X) and make a light over clock to reach or exceed the 2600X performance.

You could get away with a way cheaper motherboard. Get a b450 chipset if you don't want to go for extreme over clock and don't need SLI. Something like the gigabyte b450 pro would be enough.

I agree on the 2070 for the same price as a Vega 54. The 10series and 20series cards support free sync monitors so you should be good. In my country the price of a Vega 54 dropped as low as 269 € that would be a great deal compared to the 2070.

I see... For future proofing, does the ryzen 7 2700x makes sense? Thanks!

I would just go with the 2600. You don't really gain anything for gaming with more than 6 cores. IPC and clockspeed is what you want. And with Zen 2 (ryzen 3rd Gen) around the corner (July 2019 is rumored) and with the am4 platform supported until 4th Gen you are future proofed in the sence of just buying a new cpu 2 or 3 years from now without a new motherboard.
