Laptop for a grand parent

I’m looking for a laptop for my grandma. It needs to have an optical drive, be pretty cheap, have good tech support, and just be all around reliable. All recommendations are welcome.

Yes, no need to throw a heavy laptop at her and what not.  GIve her something effective and simple.  I would get her a Surface Pro or a tablet but you would need to make the fonts much bigger so she can read,,,,,,

I would say MBA or Chromebook. Both are idiot proof and 99% impossible to screw up. Do not get her a tablet, or a device running any tablet OS. My grandmother got an iPad almost 4 years ago and still can't use it. Tablet/Mobile OS's make simple tasks needlessly complex for somebody unfamiliar with them.

Brands I wholeheartedly reccomend (though do have flawed products): Apple, Razer, Corsair, Asus, Gigabyte, bequiet!, Noctua, Fractal, GSkill (RAM only)
