how do you deal with apple fans

Recommended Posts

Posted · Original PosterOP

So I was getting into an argument with some people on a topic of Samsung vs Apple and I admitted that Samsung had some flaws and some other stuff then when I decided to criticize their precious apple, they completely dismiss it and call Samsung garbage and they said that "I was too lightheaded" or "I won't accept the fact that Apple was better". So what do I say back to them or will you give me any ideas of why Samsung is kinda better than apple

The problem is you're arguing with people over which brand is better.

You use what you want to use, let others use what they want to use. Don't worry about it.

If you need to ask this maybe you're not very convinced of what you're saying...

...is there a question here? 🤔

Sauron'stm Product Scores:

Spoiler

Just a list of my personal scores for some products, in no particular order, with brief comments. I just got the idea to do them so they aren't many for now :)

Don't take these as complete reviews or final truths - they are just my personal impressions on products I may or may not have used, summed up in a couple of sentences and a rough score. All scores take into account the unit's price and time of release, heavily so, therefore don't expect absolute performance to be reflected here.

-Lenovo Thinkpad X220 - [8/10]

Spoiler

A durable and reliable machine that is relatively lightweight, has all the hardware it needs to never feel sluggish and has a great IPS matte screen. Downsides are mostly due to its age, most notably the screen resolution of 1366x768 and usb 2.0 ports.

-Apple Macbook (2015) - [Garbage -/10]

Spoiler

From my perspective, this product has no redeeming factors given its price and the competition. It is underpowered, overpriced, impractical due to its single port and is made redundant even by Apple's own iPad pro line.

-OnePlus X - [7/10]

Spoiler

A good phone for the price. It does everything I (and most people) need without being sluggish and has no particularly bad flaws. The lack of recent software updates and relatively barebones feature kit (most notably the lack of 5GHz wifi, biometric sensors and backlight for the capacitive buttons) prevent it from being exceptional.

-Microsoft Surface Book 2 - [Garbage - -/10]

Spoiler

Overpriced and rushed, offers nothing notable compared to the competition, doesn't come with an adequate charger despite the premium price. Worse than the Macbook for not even offering the small plus sides of having macOS. Buy a Razer Blade if you want high performance in a (relatively) light package.

-Intel Core i7 2600/k - [9/10]

Spoiler

Quite possibly Intel's best product launch ever. It had all the bleeding edge features of the time, it came with a very significant performance improvement over its predecessor and it had a soldered heatspreader, allowing for efficient cooling and great overclocking. Even the "locked" version could be overclocked through the multiplier within (quite reasonable) limits.

-Apple iPad Pro - [5/10]

Spoiler

A pretty good product, sunk by its price (plus the extra cost of the physical keyboard and the pencil). Buy it if you don't mind the Apple tax and are looking for a very light office machine with an excellent digitizer. Particularly good for rich students. Bad for cheap tinkerers like myself.

Basically you make your points, LISTEN to theirs and the respond. At the end of the day if they dont wanna listen and discuss in a respectable fashion than just stop responding and move on, dont sweat it. I CAN tell you that referring to them as sheep is a sure way to make sure they dont listen to you at all despite whether you have good points or not. I am a die hard iPhone guy, I find them better than android in all the catagories that are important to ME, but with that said I have had lots of rational discussions with android users that generally end in both sides deciding that there is no "one is better than the other" but more "one is the better than the other based on the individual". These discussions can happen with rational people, and if you find yourself in a discussion that isnt rational than just move on.

But you just answered your own question in the title. Those people that dismiss every brand are the sheep. You can sheer a sheep, but you can never have it stop following you. What I mean is, they will never back down from it, they love it that much. It doesn't matter who's right or wrong here, but rather who can admit when a particular use case will see better use of one over the other. Don't get yourself trapped in arguments like that. Just like politics, no matter what facts you may have, you'll always be wrong. Just walk away while you can.

Who cares? Let people spend money on what they want. What benefit do you get out of arguing it?

Judge the product by it's own merits, not by the Company that created it.

Yeah, look. I'm the greatest Google fanboi, but I never use the term iSheep cause it's unfair. It doesn't incite discussion and conversation. Do I know Android's better? Heck yea. But there are good things with iOS too, and just because they're there doesn't take anything away from my platform.

Besides, Samsung super angers me with the new phone pricing. Go ahead and watch Louis Rossman's video on "stop copying the bad things apple does"

You know what they say...

"Arguing with an idiot is like playing chess with a pigeon. No matter how well you play, the pigeon will knock down the pieces, crap on the board, then strut around like it won the game."

In a similar way, if the Apple fanboy is happy fanboying, let them. Just walk away.

the moment you used the term isheep you have made a logical fallacy called ad hominen. attacking someone's character in order to dismiss their arguments' value.

you are assuming the opposite party isnt capable of free will, only follow the trend, hence sheep. the more appropriate term would be simply apple user, or an apple user who's not tech savvy. if someone isnt listening, or just dismiss your arguments like hot air, just ignore them. they dont want to talk to you, or too embarassed to be point out their irrational loyalty to certain brand.

im a apple hater myself, ive never purchased any apple product, new or second hand. and i too will admit things that apple done right. like android tablet is a joke right now, ipad makes more sense.

this is a great website, i used it to reminds me not to fall in such traps.

why everybody post the spec of their rig here? i dont! cuz its made of mashed potatoes!

Why do you want to argue with people you don´t know and don´t care? Let the fools be fools

Absolutely. There's followers of any brand that just won't listen to any arguments. Don't waste your breath.

People buy phones for different reasons, some would rather pay a premium as a status symbol and others would for customization.

I only use 4 apps on my phone anyways, so I prefer something that is common / easy for repair shops to fix when they break.

Uh, neither are better than the other, they are different ways of accomplishing a pocket computer.

If the feature set of one doesn't appeal to you, great, buy the other one. Calling apple users isheep is just you being an androidsheep. Fanboying is dumb and childish-- newsflash, nobody cares what phone you use, and even less your opinion about the phone they use.

disclaimer: I use both an XR and LG V40, daily, and neither android nor ios is a clear winner. They both have annoying quirks and frustratingly stupid moments.

You can't win, because Samsung is actually garbage and a non-ethical company

That's how I see that company and I'm sure you won't be able to change the way I see Samsung

You see Apple the way you see it, and as your friend won't change your mind, you won't change his neither

Just deal with it, if your friend just loves Apple and only Apple you can tell him to f*ck off with his fanatic beliefs
