Who here owns the 1st gen Samsung 49" CHG90

Im currently patiently waiting for the second generation Sammy 49" QLED HDR Freesync 2 and 5120x1440 120Hz.  I hope the price is about 1700 dollars.  The size of the monitor is the same.  I want to here from people that have this monitor and how they adjusted to the super ultra wide resolution.  Also do black bars appear left and right on videos and utube and all that jazz.  How are you with this monitor, are you happy with your purchase.  It currently goes for 999.99 and debut 2 years ago at 1500 dollars.  So I'm hoping this 5120x1440 is about 1700 dollar at debut.

The place I work at has one, plus a friend of mine has one.

I have only used it a tiny bit, not for normal desktop stuff.

 

If you're watching YouTube at full screen, you will have black bars (unless the video is specifically 32:9). I had some YouTube gaming videos run on it and the gameplay was fine; but the cutscenes in the game had pillarboxes and letterboxes; meaning it only takes up a small portion in the middle of the screen. 

For desktop productivity stuff it's a dream of course, if at a bit of a low resolution (basically 1080p at 27" *2. with the next one being 1440p at 27" *2 that should be better)

Yes Im waiting for the 5120x1440 120hz .  Im simply waiting to buy it and hope its not more then 1700 dollars.  I can buy 2 tv's with that money lol

Bah, I'd gotten the earlier model that's only 3840x1080, but is 144Hz and also QLED.....benefit of it is that it's not too hard on the GPU's though. Don't need damn powerful GPU's though my CF VEGA64's should be able to handle 5120x1440 if push comes to shove. Regardless, I'm quite happy with this monitor, playing Metro Exodus again because I had a bad ending doing my Rambo-style type gameplay on my first run on my Radeon VII rig. CF doesn't work with Metro Exodus though, unlike previous two Metro Redux games, but a single VEGA64 seems to be doing pretty well @3840x1080....at Ultra without Hairworks. Below is a pic, just added the soundbar due to space limitation....

This is a sick setup!!!  Also nice choice in headphone with the Sennheiser   and nice RGB going on there as well.  Car games must be a amazing experience for you

I just had to turn my CHG90 off or it would have went on fire the sides were red hot and the heat was bleeding onto the screen
