Can't start windows

Windows is broken

Hey people,

I just installed windows 10 on my Packard bell ixtreme M5740 from 2009.

Every time i boot the machine up he can't start windows this is due to a recent hardware / software adjustment,

i tried more than 3 times to repair windows but that did not work.

Does someone know how i can fix this problem?

Be more specific. Don’t expect good answers if you are not being specific. What happens when you try to boot the pc exactly? Did it get stuck at the windows logo? Is the circle under the logo spinning? Or does it boot but has BSOD?

Did you change the os? Windows 10 may be too new for that pc, it is quite old.

When i try to boot it gives me a black screen for 5 minutes en then it says that he can't start windows because of a recent hardware/software adjusment and the PC said that the aplictation or operating system couldn't be loaded because a required file is missing or contains error
the status code that the machine shows is 0xc000000f
thats what i can see on the display.

I have a picture but i'am from the Netherlands.

Or just re-install Windows. Make sure you download a fresh copy using the Media creation tool. You could use a spare Windows 10 machine to create a startup disk  also. I would also get a utility to do a check on your drives health.

How did you make USB/DVD for installer? It looks like something went wrong or there's some setting in BIOS preventing booting unless manufacturers own resque disc was used.

I created a bootable USB with the "media creation tool" from microsoft.com.

Are you using original HDD? This looks like some manufacturers lock on hardware/software meaning that anything else than HP's signed stuff gets rejected.

Yes, i use the original HDD but someone before me installed windows 10 and that works.
And after serveral months win10 stopt working then i installed win10 but that did not work. I think that the drive is not locked.
