I use a Pantech P5000. Guess what it can do? Text and call. That's all I want, that's all I need. Just because someone doesn't have a "smartphone" doesn't mean they don't have a cellphone.

• Polished products with an excellent user experience, and a ridiculous markup.

• Well... cheaper phones are cheaper. Compared to a similarly-priced Android device, I'd say it's a matter of personal preference.

• System stability - my Macs don;t crash as much as my Winder-based machines
• macOS allows me to defer updates indefinitely...
• The integration between devices is terrific - if you are willing to pay the premium.

1. They're scammers that only care about money and profit. 

Why do I think this? Well I can buy a half decent car, buy a pretty decent PC or rent a 3 bedroom house in a nice area of my city for the same price as an iPhone XR (a phone with a 768p screen!).. If that doesn't show how expensive their products are then I don't know what will.

2. If they lowered the price tag, added more customizability into iOS, brought back the headphone jack and actually cared about the consumer, I wouldn't have an issue with them.

3. Cheaper phones are almost always better. Something like a OnePlus 6T is not only around £300 cheaper than the current line of iPhones, but performs similarly as well.

4. I'll give Apple credit, they hit the nail on the head with the ecosystem. You can start writing a letter on your phone and finish it on your laptop, it's actually quite good.

The software (especially macOS) is great as well (apart from how locked down it is).

I think their standards have slipped, and they no longer innovate.

 

The MacBook Pro is the perfect example of this.

 

I have never been a Mac guy, but I have long recognized how good the MacBooks were. 5 years ago I'd have argued the only problem with a MacBook Pro was the price. Except for the last 3 years now, it's been more than that.  Bad Keyboard. Pointless touchbar. Thermal issues. Reliability issues. Limited IO that requires dongles or a hub. Half of the devs in my office who have Macs, still have a 2015 unit, and are trying not to upgrade. The ones that have the newer ones, aren't too happy with it. 

 

So Apple has slipped in my opinion. They now rank alongside Dell and HP in their quality and the issues their products have. You take an XPS 13 put it up against a MBP 13 inch, and I see one with a better screen aspect ratio and bigger track pad, and I see one with a better keyboard, and a touch screen instead of a touch bar. The Apple product is not clearly better, though they still charge like it is.

 

On the iOS side its not really better. Their big idea of the last 5 years was what, The Notch? 3D Touch? Making the bezels smaller on the iPad Pro? I am not seeing any real innovation here.

How would you like them to change? Either lower the price, or justify it by providing objectively better devices. The top tier iphone doesn't deserve to be $100 more then the top tier galaxy when the galaxy provides a boat load of features, while the iphone takes away basic features (hello there headphone jack)

 

Anything you would like to say about apple vs cheaper phones? Don't buy cheaper, buy value... unless you've got the money, then buy what you want.

 

What do you think apple has got a hang of (What are they best at?) Manipulating people into thinking anti consumer things they do are good. Headphone jack's a great example.

What I think about Apple is that they need new leadership, plain and simple. They really need to think about what the competition is doing.

How I would like them to change is their mobile division, it's a mess. To be honest, they should have iOS flavors and Android flavors of their phones. Stupid, Probably, would people buy it, hell yeah.

 

I would like to say is that, a redesign of the SE needs to take place, where they should have a low power processor to capture the low end. You would have the "quality of apple" then the cheapness of a phone.

 

They have a hang of their computer division, it may not be perfect, but it is damn close. They really have a hold of their market and they make the best products they can.

I really like my Apple stuff, always reliable and well integrated. 

 

The crazy thing is how much better it all can be though. They really should restore all the IO ports for their computers and just if they made truly Pro- level mobiles with SD cards slots and USB ports as well.

I don't have anything against Apple really, if Samsung didn't use Android or Android wasnt owned by Google. I would be fine with Samsung and Android
but I just got an iPhone XR on Friday soooo

What do you think about apple? Old company which has started to stagnate, best that they can offer is software, on hardware side there is nothing special

How would you like them to change? Haven't thought about that, I think nothing will change and they will slowly start to fade away if they don't innovate again

Anything you would like to say about apple vs other hardware/software companies? main direction where they exceed is on software, most recent think was with SOLIDWORKS, Sister had to make a model for her bachelor which in total had 2000+ parts, with windows it got super laggy with hardware room to spare, with Macbook pro which had 2 gen older process and less ram everything worked super smooth and fast, felt like 10 times faster
