For the motherboard I would try to make sure it has an updated BIOS. Check reviews and see what people are saying, still a chance (although small) that the 300 series boards might not have an updated BIOS, or if you're buying in person make sure that it's got the "2nd generation ready" sticker on it. Looks solid otherwise :)

If it was me I would try to make the build smaller just for ease of use but for the most part everything look solid and you have  a very lucky kid

I'm not a fan of a second hard drive, even though I know it's better value. I don't trust the kid to install his stuff on the right drive, he's around 9 and I don't really know him.

Thanks though.

then don't go large M.2. (and set it up so that the downloads will go right to the hard drive from something like steam)

go large single SATA SSD.

You can get a build that does extremely well in Fortnite for 750$; why get a RTX 2060 and Define R6?

A 2.5" SSD is only about 10$ cheaper for me, is that worth it? What manufacturer do you recommend?

If he ever wants another, newer game to run on it I wanted it to be good enough. I got the 1200 budget, so I threw in the 2060. Was not sure about the case, I liked the R5 so I just picked that one.
